Rinks is a few miles up on the left side. Since they built the I-355 extension you pretty much get on going south, go past the 55 and get off at Archer and turn right. The range where I shoot is seldom really busy, it's $15 to shoot all day compared with some of the chains that charge $20 an hour. A couple of times a year My neighbors and friends will drive out there and make a day of it. The outdoor place an hour a way is a blast, they encourage you to bring your own targets and ammo, lots of families picnic and shoot there and Illinois has been nothing but a complete pain to this place. That pretty much goes for all ranges unless it's a class. (pistol, rifle, shotgun) It's pretty much a great place to go, the problem with IL is the FOID card so only two people can shoot on one persons FOID. If I want to take an hour drive there is a place where it is $30 to shoot all day and they have ranges for everything. When I need a break I will walk out front to the retail store, face it shooting for 4 hours w/o a break can get monotonous.

They have 13 stalls, I park myself in 13 and bring a whole bunch of guns and ammo.

Plus I have been shooting at my little hole in the wall for 18 years, it used to be $6 BUT the ventilation was horrible but they have a state of the art system now. Slide Material: Stainless Steel - Armornite® Finish The 11683 below is the 4”, or the 11688 would be the 3.6” version.īarrel Material: Stainless Steel - Armornite® Finish I just ordered a new M&P40 M2.0 4" Compact, but I did it knowing it will require a new trigger. If it was in the Performance center is was just on a cart passing though. I had to put a Apex trigger in it before I even took it to the range. It went back to S&W twice, once after the Firearms Director got involved, and they still did nothing. It had the worst trigger I have ever seen on M&P.

I bought a PERFORMANCE CENTER M&P9L PRO SERIES C.O.R.E. I have been buying S&W handguns for over 40 years. If they did, I would suggest you really do your homework. I don’t see them offering the new 2.0 compacts in a “Performance Center” version yet. I would steer you into 11683 M&P®9 M2.0™ 4" Compact. Good Luck and after some posts you will be off of double secret probation. As of late a bunch of people are doing it but if I'm out in front I'm usually taking a break from shooting and BS'ing with the guys behind the counter. I am 100% sure that different ranges have different rental rules and it's been a LONG time since I rented a gun. At the place I shoot the most often I'm pretty sure they throw in some targets in the $10 rental fee.

Be forewarned some ranges will babysit you but most wont. I think it's worth $100 to find the gun that you are going to drop some serious coin on. "I think this ones OK but Can I try that one?" Basically it takes a lot of the guesswork out of the process and there is no shame in shooting 50 rounds and then saying: I think it's like $10 to rent plus $15ish for ammo. I would go that way, it's worth a couple of hours and the ammo is the major expense. At my range they give you the back straps so you can truly see if you like the way the gun feels. This has become pretty common at my range and not crazy expensive. You have to use (buy) their ammo but you will get a hands on feel for what you like. The range I go to has about five M&Ps for rent. Do you have a range by you where you can rent guns?
